Kambô, also known as Campu, Sapo or Vacino de floresta, ( inoculation of the forest), consists of the skin secretions of the South American nocturnal tree frog (lat. Phyllomedusa bicolor) and is a holistic remedy.

Kambo has a strong effect on the entire human organism as well as on the spiritual and energetic level.

Traditionally, the Kambo frog treatment is used by some indigenous tribes of South America in the Amazon region:

-enhance hunting through increased physical strength and stamina

- strengthen the immune system and detoxify the body

- cleanse oneself of "panema" (negative energy)

- Centre and clear the mind and realign it.

- to activate vitality

Since the 1980s, research has been conducted on the chemical composition of Kambo and bioactive peptides have been found which are organic substances composed of amino acids and have certain healing capacities.

They can improve the treatment of various diseases by affecting the digestive, endocrine, cardiovascular, immune and nervous systems.

Each peptide is responsible for different physical symptoms that may occur during a Kambo session, such as nausea, vomiting, facial flushing, acceleration of the heartbeat, blood pressure changes, sweating, abdominal discomfort and urge to defecate etc.

Some of the peptides have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, analgesic, tonic, stress-relieving or supportive effects on vital cellular processes.

To name a few examples:

-Dermorphine and Deltorphins:

Strengthen the immune system and destroy pathogenic agents.                                                    They have an effect 4000 times stronger than morphine and 40 times stronger than endogenous b-endorphins.

Has a supportive effect in diseases such as depression, Alzheimer's or in strokes.

The secretion also has antibiotic properties.

It stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies and increases the production of platelets (thrombocytes) and erythrocytes (red blood cells).

It is considered the strongest natural antibiotic and has antiviral properties, as well as analgesic agents, such as demorphin.

-caerulein and sauvagin:

They lower blood pressure and have sensory-enhancing and performance-enhancing effects.

Many of the known peptides in Kambo have been replicated by pharmaceutical companies that hold over 70 patents and have many popular drugs on the market today.

None, however, compares to the effectiveness of Kambo.

A complete replication of the frog secretion has not yet been achieved.

The kambô is collected from the trees at night.

The frog's nocturnal call is very easy to recognise as to locate.

In order for the frog to secrete the secretion it needs to feel in danger, it is tied to strings.

The substance secreted by the frog is scraped off with a small piece of wood and stored in such a way that it can be kept for a long time.

The frog is not really hurt during this procedure - nevertheless, the whole act is not pleasant for him either.

Once the extraction is complete, the frog is released into the wild.

The animal should not suffer any harm, which ideally also corresponds to the sustainable way of life of primitive peoples.

In their conception, Kambô is the spirit of the forest and should therefore be treated with respect!

Unfortunately, this principle is not always adhered to, which is why it is particularly important to know from which source one obtains one's medicine.

I get my medicine directly from Robinson, one of my teachers, whom I know personally and from whom I can say with certainty that he takes the medicine from the frog with a lot of respect, of which I could convince myself personally.
